COMMUNITY OUTREACH
I'm committed to bringing awareness and appreciation for geoscience to a wider audience in a way that is hands-on and engaging. This includes leading geology hikes, and navigation workshops in southern California in partnership with Arc'teryx Los Angeles to provide accessible information about our environment and helpful skills for outdoor safety.

COMMUNITY SCIENCE
I use the geochemical skills developed throughout my PhD to study the processes behind lead contamination and how natural minerals like clinoptilolite can capture and immobilize lead in soils. By understanding how leads binds and becomes less bioavailable, my work supports community-driven efforts in East Los Angeles, Prospering Backyards, to reduce exposure and improve soil safety.
